Security camera effect for your photos, free

Security footage has a look all of its own: a cheap wide lens, a sensor that turns night into coloured noise, interlace scanlines, and a date and time burned into the corner. It reads as "something happened here" before you know what.

DialsNoiseScanlinesLensWashSecurity camera — bad lens, bad sensor, burned-in timestamp.

The CCTV look rebuilds that from a normal photo — the lens softness, the sensor noise, the scanlines and the timestamp — so a snapshot of your kitchen becomes an exhibit.

How to use it

  1. Open the tool and drop in a photo.
  2. Set Noise for the sensor and Scanlines for the interlace; Lens is the cheap wide glass, Wash the lifted, greyed blacks.
  3. The timestamp is burned into the corner — turn on the date stamp to set the date and time it shows.
  4. Export, or add it to a video clip for live footage.

FAQ

Can I change the timestamp?

Yes — the date stamp is a separate control; set the date and time it shows.

Does it work on video?

Yes. The look runs live on a clip and exports as MP4 — the timestamp ticks along.

Is it free?

Yes, free with no account; the photo stays in your browser.
